Pull up a chair

The Well Church is a new church in Columbus for every generation. We gather around a table, we open the Word together, and we make room for whoever walks in next.

The table

Everything at The Well starts at a table

Jesus did so much of his ministry over a meal. He ate with friends, with strangers and with people nobody else would sit with. We want to be a church that looks like that, so the table is where we start.

This one’s yours.
01

We bring people to the table.

Every Sunday starts with a shared meal. Nobody has to earn a seat, prove anything or have it all together first. If you’re hungry for food, for friendship or for God, there’s room for you.

02

We build tables.

A table is more than Sunday dinner. We want to build tables all over Columbus, in living rooms, break rooms and back yards, where people of every age can be known and grow in Jesus. Every table we build is one more place for someone new to sit down.

What a Sunday looks like

  1. 01

    Share a meal

We start with a potluck dinner. Bring a dish if you can, and come hungry either way.

  2. 02

    Worship together

We sing and pray together, kids and grandparents in the same room.

  3. 03

    Open the Word

We read the Bible together and ask what it means for this week. Kids from age 2 through 3rd grade head to Well Kids, a lesson of their own in the Community Room.

Every generation, one table

We want a 7-year-old, a 22-year-old and a 70-year-old to all feel at home here, and to learn from each other. Churches tend to split people up by age and stage. We would rather sit everyone down together, because that is where the wisdom gets passed down and the faith gets passed on.

Why The Well

A common place, a living spring

The name started with the woman at the well in John 4. She came to an ordinary gathering place, empty and looking for water, and found Jesus there. He didn’t shame her. He saw her, he offered her living water, and one conversation with him changed her life and her whole town.

A well is where people gather, talk, rest and find what they need for the road ahead. It’s also a word for a person made whole. In the Gospels, the word for healed and the word for saved are often the same word. We want The Well to be both: a place to meet Jesus, and a people being made well.

What we value

01

Love you can feel.

The first thing anyone should feel here is tangible love, from the people in the room and from the Holy Spirit.

02

Presence over performance.

Sunday isn’t a show. We gather in a room where everyone can see everyone, and the focus is God: the cross, the table and his presence.

03

Real, not perfect.

We go after excellence, not perfection. Nobody has to pretend here, and real life gets talked about honestly.

04

Every generation is family.

From kids to grandparents, we build relationships that go deeper than age and stage, on purpose.

05

Everyone does ministry.

Ministry isn’t just for paid pastors. We want to equip, empower and send every person into what God made them for.

06

Love our city.

We want Columbus to know us as people who love unconditionally, care for the poor and serve our neighbors.

Pastors Adam and Tara Stewart

Meet our pastors

Adam & Tara Stewart

Adam and Tara’s story started at the Brownsville Revival School of Ministry in Pensacola, Florida, the first time Adam heard Tara sing. They married shortly after graduating and went straight into full-time ministry.

They served as youth pastors at Covenant Church of Pittsburgh for eight years. From there the Holy Spirit led them to Westerville, Ohio, where they helped start Oasis City Church and served for 14 years. Then they felt the Holy Spirit calling them to start something new, and now they’re building a new table in Columbus.

Adam loves helping people find their God-given purpose, and mentoring leaders has been at the heart of his ministry for years. Tara is a passionate lover of Jesus and a prophetic worshiper who loves leading people into real encounters with God.

They live in Galena with their two boys, their daughter and Biggie Smalls, a very active bichon. You’ll usually find Adam at a ballgame with the boys and Tara at the outlet mall with their daughter.

Good questions

When and where do you meet?

Our next gathering is Sunday, November 1 at 5:30 PM at El Camino Church, 1450 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43229.

Do I have to bring food?

No. Bring a dish if you can, and if you can’t, come anyway. There’s a seat for you either way. You can sign up to bring a dish so we have a good spread.

What about my kids?

Kids eat and worship with us. During the message, children from age 2 through 3rd grade head to Well Kids for a Bible lesson of their own in the Community Room. Kids younger than 2 and kids in 4th grade and up stay with their parents for the whole gathering.

What should I wear?

Whatever you’re comfortable in.
